This 100% wool mantle is made by hand from the wool of a rare breed of long-wooled sheep called the Lincoln Longwool. Originating in England and brought to America, this sheep is the foundation of many different breeds, but is endangered as a purebred. The shepherd who owns this sheep is dedicated to bringing the breed back from the brink of extinction. To care for this piece, air out as needed, or if badly soiled, soak in cool water and dry flat. Avoid excessive friction or tugging on the locks, and never agitate when wet.
